In Dire Need of Spring?
Need a dose of Spring? I’ve got it for you right here. On one of my photo meditations yesterday, I ran into a flower shop called Pistil Design here in Queen Anne (love the name!). Although spring is slowly surfacing around Seattle in the form of blossoms and small flowers, I needed a real dose of color…and Pistil provided.
Need a dose of Spring badly? Or maybe you actually need floral arrangements for your wedding or event; it is wedding season!
If you’re in Seattle, visit their store! Flowers make you happy; I know they made me feel happy.

Queen Anne Library’s 100th Anniversary
I had the pleasure of attending the Queen Anne Library’s 100th Anniversary celebration. Mayor Murray attended and gave quite a nice speech. The library provided an activities area for children’s arts and crafts and Goodwill provided a look at clothing from 1913. Being a Downton Abbey addict, I found the clothing fascinating. It’s so foreign of a thought to think women and men had different wardrobes for morning, afternoon and evening. We live in such a casual world now that the idea of changing three to four times a day seems exhausting. Please peruse and enjoy the men’s, women, and children’s clothing of the day. The hats are especially interesting.
Queen Anne Day Photographs
Saturday was nugget heaven during the Queen Anne Day festivities…
Dad scored some balloons for later…
Queen Anne Ave before the running of the bulls…
And who doesn’t love some Papa Smurf
Most of the festivities occurred at the Community Center…
Love this photo of a little girl coming out of the Bounce House…
All the local nuggets seemed to have the time of their lives. Then again, it is the bounce house, c’mon!
Queen Anne Day photographs. Festivities began early morning and lasted through the evening, ending with a “Running With the Bulls” -which in reality, were people running with dogs dressed as bulls or paper maché bulls. Good clean fun.
